Two Camarillo-area high schools have been awarded grants to keep their music programs humming.
Adolfo Camarillo and Rio Mesa high schools received funds from the High School Music Grant Program. In its second year, the program is administered by the Ventura County Arts Council and Musicians on a Mission, both locally run nonprofit organizations.
Steve Wiley, board member of both nonprofits, said the schools’ music programs were chosen because each serves students who would not otherwise get to participate in a music program due to financial constraints.
